Costa Rica, a country recognized worldwide for its commitment to sustainability, is facing a growing solid waste management crisis. In response to this situation, we launched the “United for a Cleaner Country” campaign, a comprehensive initiative that seeks to raise awareness and promote collective action to address this challenge. According to data from the Ministry of Health, Costa Rica generates approximately 4,500 tons of solid waste per day, and a significant portion of this waste ends up polluting our landscapes, rivers, and oceans.
This problem not only affects the environment but also has a direct impact on public health and the quality of life in communities. “At Publiex, we believe we have a responsibility to use our platform to generate positive change in society,” said Geovanni Vásquez Vega, President of Publiex. “With the ‘United for a Cleaner Country’ campaign, we seek to engage all sectors of society, from municipalities to citizens, in finding solutions to the waste crisis and promoting more sustainable practices.”
